Still working...

Greetings cats of the internet world (and human servants who love their cats)!

Zen here.

I’ve convinced Arden I can take care of her newsletter while she’s busy packing for our holiday adventures.

That’s right! We’re visiting folks. Mostly her family by nature and mine by adoption. This means I’ll be trading my warm spot on the couch for a car ride. Ugh! I’m already practicing my yowl at 3:00 AM every morning. Just to make sure I’m ready. I figure it will be worth it since one of my favorite humans hasn’t seen me in ages. I’m expecting to hog all her attention. Though I hear talk that she has a new kitty. You know how rumors can be.

Arden asked me to make sure I let you know she won’t be posting again until after the New Year. I suspect its because she’ll be too full from hot cocoa and cookies, but she keeps saying something about being “present.”

Speaking of which, Arden hopes Santa brings everyone at least one special book to curl up with. I hope you get a nice big one personally. The right size for cat napping, because there’s nothing quite like settling in for a winter nap on a freshly opened book, while your human tries to read.

And speaking of gifts… I accept all treats. Never turn down catnip mice. And a warm fuzzy blanket—quality of course, because I consider myself something of an expert on these things—would be greatly appreciated.

Before I wrap up, I’d like to take a moment to remember my old housemate, Tigger. He was my partner in crime and chasing the ribbons, tugging on the bows, and even my early morning yowling sessions just aren’t the same. I know he’s napping somewhere in sunbeam, eating all the treats he wants.

Arden is giving me that look that means I should wrap this up. Apparently, she needs to “finish packing” and “make sure the house is ready” instead of letting me compose my Pulitzer-worthy holiday message.

Wishing you warm laps, sunny spots, and books that make your humans sit still long enough for a proper nap.

Oh! And a Meowy Christmas and Happy New Year to you humans, too.

Purrs and holiday cheer,

Zen (and I suppose Arden too)
